Big news from Jon & Jo

We wanted to let you know some big news! After twenty years of leading Exeter Network Church, we’ve made the big decision to step down from our role at the end of April 2025, and, following due process, pass the leadership of ENC to Bob and Tabi Wallington.

We first came to Exeter in 2004, believing God was calling us to plant a church. That was the beginning of ENC. Since then, we have been on quite a journey together, learning, growing and looking to join in with what God is doing in Exeter and beyond. As a couple, we have always trusted that God would show us the right people at the right time to take on the leadership of ENC, and we believe that Bob and Tabi are those people.

When they arrived, we very quickly saw their gifts as a couple. They have a passion to see God move powerfully, and they just ‘got’ the DNA of ENC!

We are delighted to announce that Bishop Jackie, the Acting Bishop of Exeter, has confirmed that Bob has successfully completed his curacy outcomes. We have been working with the Diocese to explore the future leadership of ENC, and with the Bishop’s support, we will follow a single-candidate process to confirm Bob and Tabi as leaders of ENC.

This means that following due process, Bob and Tabi will be appointed as the new leaders when Jon and Jo step down in 2025. During the transition period, Bob will continue to be trained and equipped alongside Tabi ready for their new roles.

We are praying about what is next for us. Of course, we will be sad to leave, but at the same time we can’t wait to work with Bob and Tabi over this next year, and we are full of hope and excitement knowing that God has amazing plans for ENC in the future. We have treasured this opportunity to lead ENC and we know that Bob and Tabi will too.

Please join us in praying for this new season. We understand there may be uncertainty around change, but also much excitement about the future.

With love, Jon and Jo
